Future Biogas is delighted to have been awarded a Center Parcs Supplier Award in the ‘Delivering Excellent Service Sustainability Initiative’ category for its Rainworth Energy project at Center Parcs Sherwood Forest.
Center Parcs holds its internal awards annually each autumn to recognise the support and dedication of their suppliers throughout the year in a variety of sectors, ranging from sustainability, to retail, and food and beverage.
The anaerobic digestion plant at Rainworth Energy supplies biogas to a CHP engine located at Center Parcs. This supplies power to the village, and a district heating network installed as part of the project supplies heat to the main leisure facilities.
The project was commissioned in autumn 2016, and now supplies over 70% of heat for the leisure facilities and 85% of electricity to the village.
Philipp Lukas, MD of Future Biogas, said ‘We are thrilled that the hard work of the team involved in this innovative project has been recognised by Center Parcs, and we look forward to continuing our successful partnership and supplying the village with clean, renewable energy for years to come.’
