Late seasonal snow meant testing times for our team at Egmere.
With breakdowns for frozen solenoids, valve and sensors, staff on call and call outs,
it was a testing week. Well done to everyone for their hard work and commitment,
battling on through harsh conditions.
It took our Lead Plant Operator over 2 hours during the snowy period to drive to work,
with multiple road closures, roads blocked and snow drifts. The determination of staff in
continuing to feed and maintain the plant during this time meant it could maintain the
consistently high up-times and, essentially, continue to produce energy.
The great news was that Derek managed to rescue a bird that was seeking shelter
from the harsh conditions, beside the Mississippi. The bird spent a
night in the office and flew away the following day.
