ISCC
The International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) is a globally recognised certification system ensuring the sustainability of biomass and bioenergy production. It establishes criteria for traceability, greenhouse gas emissions and social and environmental aspects in bioenergy value chains.
Entities that are ISCC certified have the capability to produce and exchange Proof of Sustainability (PoS) documents. These documents function similarly to the RGGOs, capturing the value associated with units of biomethane. A PoS can be any format of document that records information about a biomethane consignment related to its sustainability (e.g. feedstock used, origin of feedstock, GHG calculation) and demonstrates that the biomass fuel meets the prescribed sustainability requirements.
We have recently achieved ISCC certification for our facility at Heath Farm and we are working towards getting certification for two more sites currently operating as well as all BECCS sites.
ISO 9001
We achieved ISO 9001 in 2022, which recognises our commitment to a quality management system The main purpose of ISO 9001 is to establish a quality management system that enables our organisation to improve operations and meet internal and external stakeholder requirements.
ISO 14001
We achieved ISO 14001 in 2022 at the same time, to aid the design and implementation of our environmental management system. This refers to how we as a company interact with the environment in which we work.
ISO 45001
We have recently achieved the ISO 45001 accreditation which certifies our Health & Safety management system. The overall goal of this standard is the reduction of occupational injuries and diseases, including promoting and protecting physical and mental health.
This standard will be aligned with the ISO 9001 (Quality) and ISO 14001 (Environmental) standards that we achieved in 2022.
