Supporting farmers

This opportunity to diversify income, decarbonise farm inputs and gradually rebuild soil health will also enhance the natural ecosystem services of the surrounding natural environment. Key to this is the return of organic matter, key plant nutrients and an active soil biology back to the farm through applications of digestate, displacing fertilisers made with fossil fuels.

We’re now looking to go further to supporting farmers in the transition to more regenerative land practices, encouraging the custodianship of UK soils while championing nature-friendly practices on farm.

Innovation is integral to our approach. From inception, we have honed our own set of industry practices by testing, trialling, and measuring everything we do. From our research, we have concluded that farming for AD needs to change direction.

We understand the value of soil organic matter, soil carbon, improved biodiversity, diverse crop rotations and reduced reliance on artificial inputs onto the land.

Feedstock acquisition will be on multi-year supply contracts, designed to protect growers from market volatility such as fuel, ag-chem and fertiliser prices.

Feedstock agreements will focus predominantly on maize, wholecrop cereals and grass, supplemented with small areas of alternative perennial crops such as silphium, miscanthus or annual crops such as pea/barley mixes. We plan to build out companion cropping options in the future.
